These chemigrams are created with photo chemicals used to develop a photo (developer, stop, fix). I dipped fallen leaves into developer and placed it on to wet fibre paper. The water and developer create an image while mixing under the leaf's surface. The pink hue comes from soaking the paper in water and light before developing the leaf image. This process is very peaceful and results in etherial, pink leafy lovelies.
Originals are 5 x 7. Sold individually, $4.00 per chemigram. Look lovely framed in sets of 3!
I used the reflection of water in a small plastic wine glass and a keychain flashlight to expose an image on paper. I didn't have much control over how they ended up exposing, and my results look like similar figures and landscapes. I decided to draw what the blurry images looked like to me on tracing paper, and put them over the print. These images are the original luminograms on the left, and the accompanying tracing paper over the luminogram on the right.
